There is nothing that excites me more than trying a new restaurant especially when the words pizza and pasta are involved (that’s all thanks to my Italian heritage). Last week I was fortunate enough to check out The Pizza Lounge Swanbourne where I got to try a variety of different foods they have on offer.
Located in Swanbourne, The Pizza Lounge is a quaint hole in the wall restaurant with lots of personality. The interior is beautifully designed with rustic wall papers, moody pendant lights and a creative photo wall to give the space a warm and inviting feel. Upon arrival you are sure to be greeted by friendly staff members who are more than happy to take you through the menu. We went for the full experience starting with warm olives and garlic bread. If you like a spicy kick to your meals be sure to try out their signature tobasco garlic bread (it’s to die for).
On to the main courses it was a tough gig trying to decide which pizza to go for from the Lambuel L Jaxon to the Rockin’ Sheep (the names certainly kept me entertained). We opted for our top 3 favourites to share and let me tell you they were amazing! These pizzas were made with real italian love and skill as the chef himself is all the way from Italy. He was kind enough to let me check out behind the scenes and take me through the process involved. To compliment our meal there was such an impressive range of boutique wines and craft beers on offer. I guarantee there is something for all tastebuds on the menu.
Now a real italian meal wouldn’t be complete without ending it with a Gelato and boy was I treated to an ice-cream sundae. Decorated with caramel sauce, macadamia nuts and topped with wafers I was in desert heaven.
Next time you have a craving for pizza or pasta I would highly recommend checking out The Pizza Lounge. The best part is if you can’t be bothered leaving the comfort of your own home you can get the full flavour experience delivered right to your own front door! Go on… What are you waiting for?
