Last week saw the resort collections of 2019 walk the runway for Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival Australia and boy was it a treat! With Camilla opening and closing the shows in true style we were left with some incredible shows in-between. I was in attendance on Day 1 and 4 and have put together some of my favourite looks straight off the runway for you.

My first show on Day 1 was Bianca Spender, I’m in love with all of her designs and amazing fabrics used. The collection showcased some really stunning and feminine pieces. I loved how she combined structured looks and softened them with beautiful soft fabrics in her dresses and pants. The collection is very wearable and modern for the every day woman. I also really loved the soft hair and makeup that was used on the models to accentuate the pieces on the runway.

Anna Quan was my next show of the day and probably the most cohesive collection of all with a very chic and classic vibe. The colour pallet had very muted tones of white, grey and navy with pops of colour throughout. Quan’s pieces are detailed focussed and I absolutely loved the addition of her earrings featuring metallics and pearl to bring the looks together.

As Alice McCall says herself “I design dresses for girls to have fun” and she certainly lived up to this statement at this years 2018 showing. One of my all time favourite Australian brands McCall loves to push the boundaries when it comes to design and it always pays off. This collection is very feminine and fun, pieces you can wear in the day and night. The main pallet was florals and pastels offset with fuchsias and acid greens. The whole show was full on wonderment and delight as per usual.

Still Still Studio was a beautiful show fusing art and fashion together to create a collection of clothing. Still Studio are recognised for their simple charm and feminine pieces and they lived up to it this year. I felt so romanced by the looks and noticed so much details. I loved the use of eclectic designs, stunning fabrics, embellishments and patterns which created a very high fashion feel to the show itself.

What a show to end my MBFWA experience on. Justin Cassin certainly delivered being the only completely men’s collection showing. The show started with some fantastic entertainment of guys dancing and flipping which got the whole crowd going. It wasn’t the feel of your traditional fashion show and everybody loved it! The wide collection that was put on display was a credit to Cassin himself showcasing very contemporary yet versatile pieces for the every day man. He also launched his new range of swimwear which certainly was a hit!
